Clean logistics - sustainability in the IGS Group

Our contribution:

• CO2 Emissions: By using LNG trucks, we reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 20%, particulate matter by 99%, and NOx emissions by 70% per vehicle. In addition to our LNG trucks, our fleet consists almost exclusively of Euro VI-compliant trucks. Through optimal route planning, we carefully avoid empty runs and unnecessary extra kilometers.
• Rail Transport: To reduce particulate matter pollution and the use of fossil fuels, we are continuously expanding our intermodal rail-road combination operations and already transport 450.000 TEU per year by rail via our own zigsXpress rail network.
• Energy consumption: We are continuously reducing our use of fossil fuels such as natural gas, crude oil, and coal and replacing them with renewable energy sources. We partially power our warehouse locations using solar energy we generate ourselves.
• Waste Management: Our waste management strategy includes, among other things, the responsible disposal of the waste we generate. By recycling packaging materials and using recyclable products, we reduce our waste volumes.
• Digitization: Through the implementation of a comprehensive document management system, all administrative processes are digitally integrated, enabling a paperless and more efficient workflow.
• Certification:  Parts of our corporate group have been certified for many years to ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and HACCP as well as BIO and IFS Logistics.
• The future: We are always improving our supply chain processes.
